Best Enchants

Weapon Enchant (Staff or 1H + OH)

Staff (common in PvP):

  • Enchant Staff - Power Torrent

    • +500 Intellect proc — by far the best for Mages → increases damage, crit, and mana pool.

1H + OH combo:

  • Enchant Weapon - Power Torrent

    • Same as above — BiS.

  • Enchant Off-hand - Intellect (if available) or Frozen Devotion (if server offers it).

    • Typically Power Torrent is used on 1H, and OH gets no enchant if options are bad.

Head

  • Arcanum of Vicious Intellect

    • +60 Intellect / +35 Resilience

    • PvP-specific head enchant — mandatory.

Chest

  • Enchant Chest - Peerless Stats (+20 to all stats)

    • Stamina, Intellect, Spirit, etc.

Cloak

  • Enchant Cloak - Greater Spell Piercing (+35 Spell Penetration)

    • Extremely important → Mages need 130 Spell Penetration to bypass resistances and ensure Frostbolt, Ice Lance, Polymorph, Deep Freeze, and more land reliably.

    OR if capped via gems:

  • Enchant Cloak - Greater Intellect (+22 Intellect)

Bracers

  • Enchant Bracers - Exceptional Intellect (+50 Intellect)

Gloves

  • Enchant Gloves - Greater Mastery (+65 Mastery)

    • Mastery increases Frost Mage damage against frozen targets → very strong PvP scaling.

    • Some guides say Haste, but in Cata, Mastery was king for Frost PvP burst.

Legs

  • Powerful Ghostly Spellthread

    • +95 Stamina / +55 Spirit

    • More survivability + mana regen → ideal for PvP.

Boots

  • Enchant Boots - Lavawalker

    • +35 Mastery / Minor Movement Speed

    • Movement speed is absolutely mandatory for Mages → for kiting and staying in position.

    • Mastery is excellent for Frost.

Rings (if Enchanter)

  • Enchant Ring - Intellect (+40 Intellect per ring)

    • Very strong — worth taking Enchanting.
